More than 35 stores were open by midnight on Thanksgiving Night at Settlers’ Green Outlet Village, and many stores are reporting it was a successful evening.
Kay Jewelers reported great business when it opened its doors at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Night. Some stores even opened earlier than planned because of eager Black Friday shoppers waiting at store doors including Journeys, Tommy Hilfiger and Pacific Sunwear. White Mountain Cupcakery, which planned to open from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Thanksgiving Night, remained open two hours longer than planned before opening again at 5 a.m. because of strong demand for coffee and baked goods.
“Many stores made the corporate decision to open earlier than our required 5 a.m. Black Friday opening time this year, which appeared to be a national trend,” said Laura Tuveson, Marketing Assistant for OVP Management, Inc. “There are six less shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year compared to last year, and many stores are hoping to capitalize on Thanksgiving Weekend to make up for that.”
Settlers’ Green will have extended hours the remainder of this Thanksgiving Weekend, with stores opening at 8 a.m. this Saturday and Sunday. The mall remains open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday through the end of December.
Settlers’ Green Outlet Village, located in North Conway, New Hampshire, is a 60-plus store outlet center with a unique village setting offering landscaped courtyards, cafés and restaurants, and a wide variety of outlet shopping experiences including Coach Factory, J. Crew Factory, Banana Republic Factory Store, Nike Factory and more.
