Settlers’ Green Announces Winners of its Pumpkin People Contest

The winners of the 2013 Pumpkin People Contest at Settlers’ Green Outlet Village have been tallied and the people have spoken in this “Voter’s Choice” Contest amongst Store Pumpkin People and Public Pumpkin People (area business, non-profits or individuals).

Coach Factory received the most nods for its “Coach Barbie,” display at its store front, which was a replica of the new Coach Barbie that Coach and Mattel unveiled in August 2013. Coach Factory competed with Stride Rite and Brooks Brother Factory Store; their Pumpkin People will be on display through October 20 at each store front.

Kennett High School’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) group was voted Best Public Pumpkin People and will be donating half of its $500 cash prize to research for cystic fibrosis. The HOSA display along with Pumpkin People displays from two other area non-profit groups—Starting Point: Services for Domestic Violence and the North Conway Day Care Center—will be up through October 20 and are located at the Gazebo in the center of the shopping center.

Settlers’ Green has its own Pumpkin People, The Zombie Shoppers, located at the front entrance of the shopping center by New Balance Factory Store. “We chose zombie shoppers as a play on our next two upcoming events at Settlers’ Green,” said Marketing Assistant Laura Tuveson, “With our Zombie Walk on October 26 and Bring A Friend Weekend on November 9, we thought it would be a fun mix.”

The Settlers’ Green Pumpkin People are part of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce’s 26th Annual “Return of the Pumpkin People,” a popular event that happens in October every year. It is a self-guided tour of the Mt. Washington Valley, marked with Pumpkin People participants from area business, lodging properties, restaurants and shops on the map. There are maps available at Settlers’ Green Customer Service and most participating locations.
